System Administrator / IT Engineer Job
This job posting is no longer active
We are looking for a full time System Administrator / IT Engineer to help us provide IT support to our many small business clients in the Greater Sacramento area. Priority consideration will be given to candidates who have previous experience with a Managed Services Provider (MSP) or any company that specializes in providing IT support to small businesses.
We focus on three attributes when hiring: social skills, technical skills, and attitude:
Social Skills -- Our consultants spend a lot of their time helping people (either on the phone or in person) so it’s extremely important that you actually like people. We hire people who are genuinely charming, positive and empathetic. No fakers allowed.
Technical Skills -- It’s not critical that you have previous experience with all the technologies that we deal with on a daily basis, but you have to have a good solid base of technical knowledge. The most important skill is the ability to learn quickly. It also doesn’t hurt if you have ridiculous troubleshooting skills. We want someone who thrives on fixing problems that have stumped countless other mortals before them -- people who can out-Google Sergey and Larry to find the right answers quickly.
Attitude -- Vital Networks is one of the 500 fastest growing companies in the US (according to Inc. Magazine), so as you can imagine it is fast-paced. Therefore we need someone who runs toward fires while other people are running away from them — this is especially important if the fire is in the server room. In other words, we want someone who thrives on attacking challenges head-on, not hiding from them.
